Coaches will:


  • Promote a positive attitude and lead by example.
  • Stress fair play by observing the Laws of the Game and strive for high levels of sporting conduct.
  • Model grace, dignity, and composure, win or lose.
  • Not argue with parents and always demonstrate good sportsmanship.
  • Do their best to ensure each athlete is both physically and mentally ready for whatever task is asked of them.
  • Promote the principle that everyone is worthy of being treated with respect and dignity and refrain from taunting and any act that demeans, disrespects, or threatens anyone.
  • Never engage in any verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or harassment.
  • Display control, respect, dignity, and professionalism to all involved with soccer. This includes, but is not limited to, officials, opponents, coaches, administrators, parents, spectators, and the media.
  • Ensure that coaching or training activities take place in a safe environment and are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience, and ability of the players.
  • Never strike, shove, and threaten to strike, or lay a hand upon an official, player, parent, or spectator.
  • Never use alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or vaping products before or during training sessions or games or allow a player to participate in club activities while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if using tobacco or vaping products.


Players will:


  • Play by the Laws of the Game.
  • Never fight or use physical violence of any type
    Be good sports by cheering all good plays, whether it’s your team or the opponent’s.
  • Train and play to the best of my abilities.
  • Have a positive attitude and never quit.
  • Respect my coach, teammates, parents, and opponents.
  • Respect officials and accept their decision without question.
  • Only give positive encouragement to fellow teammates.
  • Arrive prepared for all games and training sessions with proper mental attitude.
  • Arrive prepared for all games and training session wearing proper game and training gear.
  • Notify the coach of any injuries or discomfort.
  • Notify the coach or team manager if I will be tardy or unable to attend practice, game, or team meeting.
  • Never use alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or vaping products.
  • Never cause damage to property.
  • Always abide by the official’s decision.
  • Refrain from using cell phones during practices and games.


Parents will:


  • Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, game officials, and administrators always. 
  • Support the coaches, officials, and administrators working with my child, to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
  • Remember that the game is for the players, not for the adults. 
  • Always be positive. 
  • Always allow the coach to be the only coach, by refraining from coaching from the side lines.
  • Not enter into arguments with the other team's parents, players, or coaches. 
  • Not enter the field of play for any reason during the game. 
  • Not criticize game officials. 
  • Learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league. Knowing the rules of the game will help with development and will help to minimize disagreements.
  • Sit on the opposite side of the players’ bench during practices and games. (No exceptions)
  • Be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players (on both teams), coaches, officials, and spectators at every game, practice, or other sporting event. I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting or using profane language or gestures. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of the athletes. 
  • Encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
  • Encourage my child to treat other players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or ability.
  • Will not ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  • Never fight or use physical violence of any type.
  • Never threaten, bully, harass or use abusive behavior directed at other fans, players, officials, or staff members.
  • Never cause damage to property
  • Applaud good plays by your child’s team as well as the opposing team.
  • Not coach or referee from the sidelines.
  • Never use profanity, drugs, alcohol, or tobacco during a game or at training sessions.
  • Ask their child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.
  • Never express verbal abuse, harass, physically strike, or threaten to strike, shove, or lay a hand upon an official, player, coach, or spectator.
  • Never use trash talk, profane, obscene, or vulgar language under any circumstance, including on social media.


Toward Referees – The RULES!!

 

  • Parents and spectators shall never yell at the referee(s), including criticism, sarcasm, harassment, intimidation, or feedback of any kind before, during or after the game.
  • Parents and spectators shall not make remarks to the referee(s) or advise the referee(s) to watch certain players or attend to rough play.
  • Parents and spectators shall not dispute calls during or after the game.
  • Be respectful and courteous towards all referees and especially towards our youth referees. 
  • The Club has a zero tolerance policy for all negative comments towards or about a referee at any time before, during, or after games.
  • Never shout at referees and/or outwardly criticizing referees on the sideline or otherwise while at the fields is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. 
  • Anyone who creates a problem will be asked to leave the game and fields by the referee or a Greenbush SC official.
  • Further, the Club reserves the right to enact further sanctions including fines and expulsion from the Club as appropriate.
